Privacy Policy

Recipéel ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Recipéel recipe video marketplace at recipeel.com ("the Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Platform.

By creating an account or using Recipéel, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name (chosen by you)
• Account role (Creator or Buyer)
• Profile bio (optional, creators only)
• Profile photo URL (optional)

2.2 Payment Information

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you make a purchase or connect a payout account, Stripe collects your payment details directly. Recipéel does not receive or store your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details.

We do receive limited, non-sensitive payment metadata from Stripe, including:

• Transaction IDs and amounts
• Purchase timestamps
• Stripe Customer ID (a tokenised reference, not your card details)
• Stripe Connect Account ID (for creators)
• Payout status information

2.3 Content Data

For creators, we store the recipe content you upload: titles, descriptions, ingredient lists, cuisine tags, pricing, and video metadata. Video files are stored and streamed via Mux — we store the Mux asset ID and playback ID, not the raw video file itself.

2.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain usage and technical data when you use the Platform, including:

• Pages visited and features used
• Time and date of access
• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• IP address (used for security and fraud prevention, not stored long-term)
• Referring URLs

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Process purchases and deliver purchased content to buyers
• Calculate and facilitate creator payouts via Stripe
• Communicate with you about your account, purchases, and platform updates
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
• Improve the Platform — analyse usage patterns to understand how the Platform is used and where it can be improved
• Comply with legal obligations
• Respond to customer support enquiries

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.

Recipéel uses Supabase as its database and authentication provider. Your account data, recipe content metadata, purchase records, and profile information are stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database.

Supabase stores data on secure infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Supabase complies with SOC 2 Type II standards.

Authentication sessions are managed by Supabase Auth using industry-standard JWT tokens. Passwords are never stored in plain text — Supabase handles all password hashing using bcrypt.

Recipéel integrates with Stripe for payment processing and creator payouts. When you enter payment information on Recipéel, that data goes directly to Stripe via an encrypted connection — it never touches our servers.

We do not store, log, or have access to:

• Full credit or debit card numbers
• Card CVV / security codes
• Bank account numbers or routing numbers
• Any PAN (Primary Account Number) data

By using the payment features on Recipéel, you are also subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. For Creator payouts, your Stripe Express account is governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.

Recipéel uses a minimal set of cookies necessary for the Platform to function:

• Authentication cookies — set by Supabase Auth to maintain your login session. These are strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of while using the Platform.
• Session cookies — temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser, used to maintain your state across page loads.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies that track you across other websites. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking products.

We work with the following third-party services to operate the Platform. Each has its own privacy policy.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except when required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. If you delete your account:

• Your profile information and email address will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Your recipe content will be removed from public visibility immediately and deleted within 30 days
• Purchase records are retained for up to 7 years for legal and tax compliance purposes — these records contain only transaction metadata, not payment details
• Buyers who purchased your recipes will retain access to their purchased content until we are able to substitute or remove it

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
• Right to data portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Right to object — object to how we process your data in certain circumstances
